Building conversions that are detached from the main dwelling
For most, alterations and extensions can be made within Permitted Development Rights, however unattached conversions to buildings such as stables or garages may require both Building and Planning consent.
A recent project fell within this catogory and had a successful outcome at the Planning stage.
This project converted existing garage/stables that were detached from the main dwelling and was set in a rural location. The increase of floor area combined with the existing, is now 140 square meters. It provides a very comfortable two bedroom unit, and will be an exciting addition to the main dwelling providing occupants with fantastic panoramic views of the countryside.
A former disused crofters cottage converted for use as a boutique soap production SME and shop.
